The Landscape
The Plaisance
At the heart of Lafayette Park winds 13 acres of parkland named the Lafayette Plaisance. The land is owned and maintained by the City of Detroit and forms an expansive, naturalistic backdrop for the modern architecture. The Plaisance, tree canopy, and ground cover were designed by landscape architect Alfred Caldwell.
